River Report / Conditions – July 18, 2018

July 19, 2018, Author: Patrick Cook

I floated the Upper to Middle section of the West yesterday and had targets throughout the day. Sulphurs started heavy for a few hours, then we got that mid day Olive hatch with sporadic Iso’s.  A few of our fish were taken on a prospected Cahill, so don’t hesitate to give that a shot. We had our most success in the riffles. The algae on the Upper has really seemed to settle out and nymphing is definitely a possibility now.    The forecast for today is calling for 80/55 and blue skies. The wind will be light and variable.

Hatching:

Sulphurs #14-#18

BWO #14-#22

Tan Caddis #14-#18

Dark Blue Sedge #14

Spotted Sedge #16-18

Iso #10-#12

Vitreus #14-16

Cahills #12 – #14
