River Report / Conditions – July 28, 2018

July 28, 2018, Author: Patrick Cook

The West and Upper East are pretty well cleared up. The release from Cannonsville has been bumped up to 500cfs and we are now in the 4g fmp table. The entire West is more than wade and/or floatable. The East was given a bump in flows as well. This will help keep the temps on the Upper East (particularly Harvard gauge) […]

River Report / Conditions – July 27, 2018

July 27, 2018, Author: Patrick Cook

I drove around after work yesterday to check the rivers out. The Upper East despite being high was quite clear. The Bkill was chocolate milk and therefore the Lower East was as well. The entire West cleared up nicely and has a good tint to it. This is a positive thing considering how snotty the fish can get this […]

We definitely received the rain we’ve all been asking for. The West from Deposit down is chocolate milk. Fishing can still be had at Stilesville. The Upper East is now at 1060 cfs, so wading that is going to be limited. This rain should give a nice flush throughout the system and wash the algae away.  The forecast for today […]

The Beaverkill and Main Stem are on the rise.  As of this morning, the West and Upper East are stable. The West has some color too it, but getting a nice bump in flows.  Tricos were on the lower West again on Saturday. From the reports I got throughout the weekend it seemed to be a spotty in terms of bugs. Anglers who where nymphing/swinging […]

We got some rain last night, and have more in the forecast in the upcoming week with cooler temps.   The forecast for today is calling for 77/67 with cloudy skies […]

River Report / Conditions – July 21, 2018

If you’re looking for early morning action, we’ve had good reports of Tricos on the West and Upper East. Nymphing or swinging wets is always a safe bet in between hatches. Iso wets in particular are going to be productive in the riffles. We’re still seeing that mid day Sulphur and Olive hatch mid day. I had many fish […]

River Report / Conditions – July 18, 2018

I floated the Upper to Middle section of the West yesterday and had targets throughout the day. Sulphurs started heavy for a few hours, then we got that mid day Olive hatch with sporadic Iso’s.  A few of our fish were taken on a prospected Cahill, so don’t hesitate to give that a shot. We had our most success in the riffles. The […]
