Fishing has been productive these last few days with decent spinner falls and Hendricksons still being the main bug. There are plenty of wade opportunities on the West, East, and Beaverkill (which is very wadeable). Apple caddis are very strong on the Mainstem right now.          Hatching: Hendricksons – #12-14 Blue Quills (Paraleps) #16-18 BWO #16-20 […]

River Report / Conditions – May 10, 2019

Yesterdays constant breeze helped the bugs off the water a little faster than they normally would be. The wind today should be much less, and flows across the system have been dropping. We are expected to get a shot of rain today which will bumo the flows a little for this weekend. However, there are […]

We finally got our evening spinner fall last night. Hendrickson Spinners are notorious for early morning or mid-day falls. As the days progress and the night temps rise, the Spinners should keep falling towards the evening. We are getting reports that the East has picked back up, and fishing well.            Hatching: Hendricksons – #12-14 […]

The Hendricksons have been hatching around 1pm.  The Main has had lots of Apple Caddis and Hendrickson’s. The West has been predominantly been a Hendrickson and Blue Quill game.          Hatching: Hendricksons – #12-14 Blue Quills (Paraleps) #16-18 […]

During the day it was bug soup including a mid day spinner fall. The mainstem has been fishing well, with a few more variety of bugs. It seems that low riding Hendrickson patterns have been working the best.     Hatching: Hendricksons – #12-14 Blue Quills (Paraleps) #16-18 BWO #16-20 Chimarra Caddis – Not very important […]

River Report / Conditions – May 2, 2019

Despite some heavy wind gusts, the entire system fished well yesterday. Today should fish much better with less wind and 20* increase in Air temps. CDC Hendrickson emerges were the key to success for me yesterday.  The Upper East has been the slowest fishing as far as surface activity, but we expect that to change […]

The mid to lower West continued to fish well yesterday. Anglers reported seeing more Blue Quills. The Beaverkill has been wadeable and fishing well. In the evenings I’ve been picking fish up on various Caddis patterns. Today should be another productive day with just slightly more wind. Hatching: Hendricksons – #12-14 Blue Quills (Paraleps) #16-18 […]
