There was a decent Hendrickson hatch on the Main Stem yesterday and there were some happy, hungry fish looking for them. The gusty winds made it challenging at times, but if you were persistent, you could find fish willing to eat your fly. The west also had a decent hatch of Blue Quills and BWO’s with some Hendricksons mixed in. It should only get better over the next few days. The forecast for today is calling for partly cloudy skies with afternoon thunderstorms and winds at 10-15 mph out of the WSW.
Hatching:
Little Black Stoneflies – #14-18
Black caddis – #16-18
Blue Wing Olives – #18–24
Blue Quills – #16-18
Midges – #18-24
Hendricksons #12-#14
Quill Gordon #12-#14 (Sporadic)
